The Wnki function which you'll be using the most is by far the PageEdit Safer Edit option. This is the place to change text on your webpages. In the picture above there there is on the left a representation of a standard webpage. The parts in light grey represent text which is part of the template (not editable). The bluish lines represent markers which define editable area. The parts in pink represent area which can be edited in Safe Edit mode.
When you enter into Safer Edit mode the Wnki program loads the webpage from the server and scans for bluish markers looking for blocks of text which can be edited.
After the Wnki program finds and extracts the fields for editing it sends them to your computer. Now you have access to changing the text.
Here the brown lines represent your edit changes. Once you finish making changes you'd select either "preview changes" or "save changes". Let's assume that you've selected "Save Changes." This will send your updated text back to the server.
On the server Wnki receives the altered text and inserts it into the webpage between the markers where it belongs.
After the webpage has been reassembled it is stored back on the server ready for browsers to request and view with your changes saved.
