It would be a sad place in the city if one could only go to geek restaurants, or read geek culture newspapers, or go to geek plays, or visit geek museums. One of the top three reasons that people love large cities is the variety of cultures and people that one encounters.
The big win with Wnki is in who creates webpages. By making the system just that much more available we have broadened the variety of folks who can post directly to the web.
Thus, the big winners from Wnki may just turn out to be web-browsers. In a few short weeks of beta testing we've seen the creation of websites by folks who could not previously have produced a website. And the content they are posting is material which would otherwise not have seen the light of day.
That is a big win in our book.
