How do I change the colors of my webpages?
|
Color is so important. Just imagine a website with a red background and green text..... Okay stop. Hard to take isn't it.
Well, what if your initial choice of colors did not work out. How do you change the color scheme?
Read on to find out how.

- Step 1)
- Using the Main option at the top of the WnKi menu go to your admin/index.html directory
- Step 2)
- Look near the bottom of the page for a link called "Advanced Functions". Click on that link.
- Step 3)
- On wnkiextra.pl page you will see at the top left a menu option called "Color". It is inbetween "Menu" and "Header".
- That word "Global" is indicating that the menu change will be on more than one page. In fact it will be on all pages.
- Click on the "Color" link.
- This will take you to the Edit Global Color page.
- Step 4)
- From the Edit Global Color page you may change the colors of your background, text and links.
- Enter the RRGGBB numbers for the colors you want. If you don't know what RRGGBB color numbers are then either guess, experiment, or use one of the many color tables available. The Newbie HTML Tutorials have information on this.
- Leave the "Target Directory" set to /.
- Click on the "Click to Save and Apply..." button.
- This will take you to the Edit Global Menu page.
- Step 5)
- From the Edit Global Menu page.
- Make changes in the big white edit box.
- Click on the "Click to Save and Apply ...." button.
- This will apply your color changes to the whole website.
If ever you find a background text color combination you like write it down. I can tell you from experience that it might not be possible to get back a combination you like. In writing this little tutorial I changed the background for WnKi.com website and I'm still not happy with the colors -- I didn't have the previous colors written down.
