How do I change the menu?

It is inevitable that you will want to add and/or subtract menu options from your basic page template. If you have conferenced with you WnKi webmaster prior to the basic site setup you will not need to make changes to the menu for a while -- hopefully not until you are feeling more comfortable with WnKi. If you aren't feeling comfortable with WnKi, then contact your WnKi webmaster and have him or her make the changes. If, on the other hand, you are feeling like an old pro use the instructions below to make your desired changes.

First before doing anything else Backup your website. You are about to do something somewhat major. In fact you are about to enter into the "Advanced Functions" .... wooooo that sounds like we should be careful.
  • Step 1)
    Using the Main option at the top of the WnKi menu go to your admin/index.html directory

  • Step 2)
    Look near the bottom of the page for a link called "Advanced Functions". Click on that link.

  • Step 3)
    On wnkiextra.pl page you will see at the top left a menu option called "Menu". It is just beside the word "Global".
    That word "Global" is indicating that the menu change will be on more than one page. In fact it will be on all pages.
    Click on the "Menu" link.
    This will take you to the Global Menu Edit Center.

  • Step 4)
    From the Global Menu Edit Center.
    Leave the "Menu Type" set to Standard Menu.
    Leave the "Target Directory" set to /.
    Enter your admin password in the "Password" edit box.
    Click on the "Click Here to ...." button.
    This will take you to the Edit Global Menu page.

  • Step 5)
    From the Edit Global Menu page.
    Make changes in the big white edit box.
    Click on the "Click to Save and Apply ...." button.
    This will save your menu changes and put them into all of your website pages.
